It allows Aurono to start managing an existing position under the same deterministic rules as any other strategy.

What This Option Is For

This option is intended for situations where:

You already own the asset on the exchange
You want Aurono to manage sells under defined rules
You want to continue accumulating or distributing from an existing position

Without this option, every strategy starts from zero.

What You Provide

When enabling this option, you manually provide:

The amount of coins you already own
The average price you paid for those coins

Aurono does not infer or fetch this information automatically.

How Aurono Uses This Information

To initialize the strategy’s accounting, Aurono:

Records the provided amount as the starting position
Records the provided average price as the average cost base
Records what the position is worth at the current market price, shown on the starting-position card as “Worth EUR X when this strategy began”

The average cost base decides when the strategy may sell. The market value is what the strategy’s overall result and its Buy & Hold and DCA comparisons start from, so a gap between what you once paid and what the coins were worth on day one doesn’t count as the strategy’s own gain or loss.

This is purely an administrative registration:

No order is sent to the exchange
Nothing is bought or sold
Your exchange balance does not change

From this point forward, the strategy behaves exactly like any other.

Average Cost Base Behavior

The provided average price becomes the strategy’s initial average cost base.

All future buys and sells:

Update the average cost base normally
Are subject to the same selling safeguards
